FAQ – Alles wat je ooit wilde weten over Amai Comedy Club

(en zelfs een paar dingen die je niet wist dat je wilde weten)

VOOR PUBLIEK

Hoe koop ik een ticket voor een show?

Simpel! Surf naar onze ticketpagina, kies je show, klik op ‘bestel’ en volg de stappen. Je tickets verschijnen meteen in je mailbox. Geen wachtrijen, geen stress.

Kan ik ter plaatse tickets kopen?

Soms wel, meestal niet. Veel shows zijn snel uitverkocht. Wil je zeker zijn van een plekje? Boek op voorhand.

Wat voor show is het?

Bij elke show staat een korte beschrijving: line-up, type (stand-up, impro, musical, open mic…), en soms zelfs een waarschuwing voor buikpijn van het lachen.

Mag ik eten of drinken tijdens de show?

Zeker! Zolang je het in onze bar gekocht hebt. Blikjes Cara zijn verboden. Niet alleen omdat het marginaal is… maar oké, vooral daarom.

Vanaf welke leeftijd mag je komen kijken?

Meestal vanaf 16 jaar. Niet omdat we stout zijn, maar comedy kan soms wat grof of scherp zijn. Familievoorstellingen zijn duidelijk aangeduid.

Wat als ik te laat ben?

Kom minstens 30 minuten op voorhand. We zijn meestal al 2 uur voor de show open. Laatkomers kunnen soms nog binnen, maar bij sommige comedians niet meer. In dat geval vragen we je te wachten tot de pauze. En op sommige locaties? Worden je stoelen gewoon doorverkocht als je niet op tijd bent.

Ik heb tickets geboekt, maar mijn vrienden laten het afweten. Krijg ik mijn geld terug?

Tot 48u op voorhand: ja. Daarna: nee, helaas. Waarom? Last-minute lege stoelen = gemiste kans voor anderen. Pro-tip:laat iedereen z’n eigen ticket kopen of op tijd terugbetalen. (En ja: wetenschappelijk onderzoek wijst uit dat last-minute afzeggers gewoon slechtere vrienden zijn. Wij zeggen het niet, de wetenschap zegt het.)

Oei, ik heb per ongeluk te veel tickets besteld!

Geen paniek!

Check altijd je winkelmandje voor je bevestigt – vooral na een mislukte betaling.
Refresh je browser of gebruik een andere als het niet werkt.
Toch te veel besteld? Mail ons minstens 48u op voorhand via amaicomedyclub@gmail.com en we lossen het samen op.

De show is uitverkocht. Kan ik toch nog binnen?

Officieel: nee. Onofficieel: je mag altijd langskomen en hopen op een no-show, maar… meestal is er al een wachtlijst van mensen die ons mailden.
Tip: stuur op tijd een mailtje naar amaicomedyclub@gmail.com om op die lijst te komen.

Hoe boek ik een show bij jullie?

Stuur een mailtje naar amaicomedyclub@gmail.com met info over de gelegenheid, locatie en het soort publiek. Wij maken een voorstel op maat.

Wat voor comedyshows bieden jullie aan?

Alles! Stand-up, impro, muzikale comedy, educatieve shows, interactieve concepten, noem maar op. Van een bedrijfsfeest tot een zorginstelling – we hebben +10 jaar ervaring en een aanbod voor elke setting.

Spelen jullie ook op locatie?

Zeker weten! Of het nu een café, sporthal, huiskamer of tuinfeest is: wij brengen de grappen, jullie de sfeer. (En hopelijk ook licht en geluid.)

Wat hebben jullie nodig qua techniek?

Minstens een microfoon, versterking en wat podiumlicht. Details hangen af van je gekozen show. Mail ons en we leggen het je uit.

Wat kost een show?

Dat hangt af van locatie, duur en type optreden. Stuur ons een mail voor een vrijblijvende offerte met verschillende opties.

VOOR COMEDIANS

Kan ik bij jullie spelen?

Mail ons met info over jezelf, een video en je comedy-ervaring. Nieuw? Start bij onze open mics. Maak indruk, toon potentieel, en wie weet volgt er meer.

Organiseren jullie open mics?

Yes! We kondigen ze aan in de Facebookgroep Cadetten en Open Micers. Geen Facebook? Dan mag je mailen, maar liever mét video en motivatie. Zo krijg je sneller antwoord.

Mag ik een try-out doen van m’n avondshow?

Dat kan alleen als we jou al goed bezig zagen én geloven dat je er klaar voor bent. Langere sets krijg je pas na bewezen ervaring.

Scoor goed en dan: langere sets, misschien zelfs een eigen avondshow!

Mag ik feedback krijgen?

Graag – als je erom vraagt! We geven liever géén ongevraagde feedback. (En pas op met feedback van collega-comedians. Niet iedereen is een coach.)

Wat als ik zelf afzeg of niet opdaag voor een optreden?

Niet cool.
Afzeggen kan altijd, maar doe het zo vroeg mogelijk.
No-shows zonder verwittiging = geen herkansing.
We snappen dat er iets tussen kan komen, maar laat het op tijd weten. Communicatie is key.

FA – Frequently Assumed (maar nope)

“Een comedian verzint alles ter plekke.”

Nope. Stand-up is bloed, zweet en rewrites. Improcomedians verzinnen misschien wel alles ter plaatse, maar zelfs zij trainen daar heel lang op. De meeste van onze improvisatoren hebben meer dan 10 jaar ervaring.

“Comedy is mensen uitlachen.”

Niet bij ons. We lachen met mensen, niet om hen. We bannen comedians die structureel mikken op kwetsbare doelgroepen. Geen grap.

“Comedians zijn altijd grappig.”

Op het podium? Ja. Privé? Soms zijn het gewoon verlegen mensen of personen die dringend therapie nodig hebben, maar comedy is goedkoper.

“Mag ik iets roepen tijdens de show?”

Liever niet. Tenzij je een roast bezoekt, maar zelfs dan: good luck. Wil je echt interactie? Kom naar een improshow. Misschien eindig je zelfs mee op het podium.

“Een comedian komt toch gewoon wat vertellen?”

Haha, was het maar zo simpel. Comedy = juiste setting + juiste flow + voorbereiding + publiek + magie. En een goede geluidsinstallatie.

🎟 FOR THE AUDIENCE

How do I buy a ticket for a show?

Easy! Head to our ticket page, pick your show, click ‘order’, and follow the steps. Your tickets will be in your inbox in no time. No lines, no stress.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Sometimes yes, mostly no. Many shows sell out fast. Want to be sure you get in? Book in advance.

What kind of show is it?

Every show has a short description: the line-up, type (stand-up, improv, musical, open mic…), and sometimes even a warning about potential bellyaches from laughing too hard.

Can I eat or drink during the show?

Of course! As long as you bought it at our bar. Cans of Cara beer are strictly forbidden. Not just because it’s tacky… but yeah, mostly because of that.

What’s the minimum age to attend?

Usually 16 and up. Not because we’re naughty, but comedy can be a bit rough or edgy. Family-friendly shows are clearly marked.

What if I’m late?

Arrive at least 30 minutes early. We usually open 2 hours before showtime. Latecomers might still be allowed in, but some comedians don’t allow it. In that case, you’ll have to wait until the break. And at certain venues? Your seats might be resold if you’re not on time.

I bought tickets, but my friends bailed. Can I get a refund?

Up to 48 hours in advance: yes. After that: nope, sorry.
Why? Last-minute no-shows = lost opportunity for others.
Pro tip: have everyone buy their own ticket or pay you back in time. (And yes: scientific studies show that last-minute cancelers are just worse friends. We’re not saying it – science is.)

Oops, I accidentally ordered too many tickets!

No worries!

Always double-check your cart before confirming – especially after a failed payment.
Refresh your browser or switch to another one if something’s not working.
Still too many tickets? Email us at least 48 hours in advance via amaicomedyclub@gmail.com, and we’ll fix it together.

The show is sold out. Can I still get in?

Officially: no. Unofficially: you can always drop by and hope for a no-show, but… there’s usually already a waitlist of people who emailed us.
Tip: email us early at amaicomedyclub@gmail.com to get on that list.

💼 FOR BOOKERS

How do I book a show with you?

Send us an email at amaicomedyclub@gmail.com with some info about the event, location, and audience type. We’ll create a custom proposal.

What kind of comedy shows do you offer?

Everything! Stand-up, improv, musical comedy, educational shows, interactive formats, you name it. From corporate events to care centers – we’ve got 10+ years of experience and a show for every setting.

Do you perform on location?

Absolutely! Whether it’s a bar, sports hall, living room, or garden party: we bring the laughs, you bring the vibe. (And hopefully also the lights and sound.)

What do you need in terms of tech?

At minimum: a microphone, amplification, and some stage lighting. Details depend on the show. Email us and we’ll explain everything.

How much does a show cost?

That depends on location, duration, and type of performance. Send us an email for a no-obligation quote with different options.

🎤 FOR COMEDIANS

Can I perform at your club?

Email us with info about yourself, a video, and your comedy experience. Newcomer? Start with our open mics. Impress us, show potential, and who knows what’s next.

Do you organize open mics?

Yes! We announce them in the Facebook group Cadetten en Open Micers.
👉 No Facebook? You can email us, but we prefer you include a video and some motivation. That way, you’ll get a quicker reply.

Can I do a try-out of my solo show?

Only if we’ve already seen you kill it and believe you’re ready. Longer sets come after proven experience.

Can I get feedback?

We love giving feedback – if you ask for it! We don’t offer unsolicited critiques. (Also, be cautious with feedback from fellow comedians. Not everyone’s a coach.)

What if I cancel or don’t show up for a gig?

Not cool.
Cancelling is always allowed – just do it as early as possible.
No-shows without notice = no second chances.
We get that things can come up, but please communicate. That’s key.

🤔 FA – Frequently Assumed (But Nope)

“A comedian just makes stuff up on the spot.”

Nope. Stand-up takes blood, sweat, and rewrites. Improv comedy is invented on the spot but it takes a long time to be really good at it. Most of our improvisers have more than 10 years of experience.

“Comedy is about making fun of people.”

Not at our club. We laugh with people, not at them. We ban comedians who regularly target vulnerable groups. No joke.

“Comedians are always funny.”

On stage? Yes. In real life? Sometimes they’re just shy folks or people who really need therapy. But hey, comedy’s cheaper.

“Can I shout something during the show?”

Preferably not. Unless it’s a roast, but even then – good luck. Want interaction? Come to an improv show. Who knows, you might even end up on stage.

“A comedian just gets up and talks, right?”

Haha, if only. Comedy = the right setting + right flow + preparation + audience + magic. And a good sound system.
